This policy explains what information graveldrivewaycalculator.com (“Gravel Driveway Calculator”, “we”) collects and what it doesn’t. The site is run by Mubarak Hussain. Questions: contact@graveldrivewaycalculator.com.
In short
- The calculators run entirely in your browser. What you type into them is not sent to us or stored by us.
- There are no accounts, no advertising and no analytics on the site.
- Your browser remembers one setting, US or metric units, on your own device.
- Our host keeps standard server logs, as almost every website does.
- If you email us, we use your message only to reply.
The calculators
All calculations happen in your web browser using code downloaded with the page. Your measurements, prices and results are not transmitted to our server, logged or stored by us. The Copy button copies results to your own clipboard and nowhere else.
Unit preference stored in your browser
When you choose US or metric units, the calculators save that choice in your browser’s local storage under the name gcalc-units, so the next calculator you open uses the same units. It is stored only on your device, is never sent to us, and contains nothing else. You can remove it by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings; the calculators work normally without it.
Cookies
The site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It runs on WordPress, which sets cookies only for people who log in to manage the site, not for visitors reading pages. Pages are served through the LiteSpeed Cache plugin to make them load faster; it may set a technical cookie needed to serve the right version of a page. TODO(owner): after launch, check the cookies the live site sets for a logged-out visitor (for example in the browser’s developer tools) and list them here.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by Hostinger. Like most web servers, theirs automatically record standard request information such as IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time. These logs are used for security, troubleshooting and keeping the site running, and are kept according to the host’s own policies. TODO(owner): confirm which Hostinger plugins remain active on the new site (for example any AI or performance plugin) and describe anything they load or collect for visitors, or confirm they load nothing on public pages.
If you email us
If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and, if you report an error, to fix it. We do not sell, rent or share your address, and we don’t add it to any mailing list.
Links to other sites
Some pages link to external sources, such as NIST and the U.S. Geological Survey. Those sites have their own privacy policies. Use of this site is also covered by the terms of use.
Your rights
Because the site keeps no user accounts or profiles, we generally hold no personal data about visitors beyond server logs and any emails you send. Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK or the CCPA in California, you may have rights to access or delete personal data about you. Changes to this policy
If the site starts using any new service that collects data, this policy will be updated first, with a new date at the top. Significant changes are also noted in the changelog.
